A woman driving along the two-lane road that is the only way in and out of the Florida Keys was pulled over for driving at a high rate of speed in a posted 35 mph zone.

Bodycam footage from the October 17, 2021, incident shows a Monroe County Sheriff’s Office deputy approaching a white Chevrolet after pulling it over after passing his cruiser which was traveling at 45 mph.

While asking the driver some initial questions, the deputy noticed her speech was slurred and her lipstick was smeared.

“Have we had anything to drink today,” the deputy asked the driver.

“No, our axe just left us,” she replied. “Our axe-boyfriend,” she added.

“Okay, your axe,” the deputy asked her before asking her how much she had to drink for a second time.

“Nothing,” she quickly responded.

The deputy was eventually able to have the driver exit her vehicle after she refused commands numerous times.

When she finally complied she commented on how people and officers get shot where she is from.

“It’s like F-ing Chicago except Chicago, people get shot, actually cops get shot,” she said.

Despite multiple attempts to conduct sobriety tests, the driver continually disregarded instructions, which ended up leading to her arrest for DUI.

After being handcuffed and asked if she had any weapons on her, she made a threatening statement to the deputies.

“I got a Glock in my safe, so you are lucky there,” she said.

Later investigations revealed a prior DUI arrest, and she was sentenced to 12 months of probation after declining a breath sample at the Key West DUI room.
