A law enforcement officer is going viral after posting a TikTok video in which he explains his thoughts about officers knowing the difference between a gun and a taser.

The officer, who goes by @brianb1504, starts the video by showing the two weapons and says, “dominate, not dominate” as he demonstrates the initial difference.

The video was a reaction to the office-involved shooting death of Daunte Wright. The officer at the center of the video pulled her gun and yelled, “taser, taser, taser” before shooting Wright with her firearm in the chest.

The death has sparked outrage and protests across the nation. The officer and the Brooklyn City Police Chief have both resigned from their positions due to the incident.

In the TikTok video, the officer goes on to say, “If you’re in the heat of the moment and you do something like that, you shouldn’t be doing this job. Because no one likes a bad cap more than a good cop, I can tell you that straight up.”

The officer, who appears to be a state trooper based on the hats sitting on the shelf over his shoulder, does not say his name or show what department he is affiliated with.

“99% of our job is communication. You don’t have to be quick to pull out a gun or a taser on somebody and think everyone’s a threat,” he goes on to say. “Try talking to them, get to know the people.”

The other videos on his TikTok page touch on a variety of LEO-specific topics. They include bad parenting, the mental health of law enforcement officers, resisting arrest, and police harassment.
