A woman as caught on camera attempting to smuggle contraband into Rikers Island Pirson by stuffing it into a small child’s pants.
The woman was caught in April, when security cameras recorded her pulling the smuggled goods into her little girl’s trousers before handing her over to the inmate.
According to the New York Post, Correction Officers’ Benevolent Association President Elias Husamudeen claims the circumstance is a great example as to how low people will go to ensure the criminal enterprise remains alive and well on the inside.
“This video is a perfect illustration of the extreme lengths visitors will go to smuggle jail contraband, regardless of the consequences,” he said. “And this incident is yet another reason why Mayor de Blasio needs to immediately install the non-ionizing scanners that detect non metallic objects.”
NYC Correction Officers made over 400 visitor arrests last year, all related to smuggling contraband into NYC jails.
