Gloribel Serrano, a 27-year-old woman from the Bronx, was accused of assaulting an individual with a tire iron, according to the N.Y. Daily News. Even though she was being chased by law enforcement, she still managed to maintain her prolific social media posts. She continually posted pictures of meals and provocative pictures of herself. Serrano also posted quotations to serve as motivators for her health food business, called “Come Healthy.”

On May 12 at 2 a.m., Serrano allegedly struck Margarita Garcia in the head with a tire iron, according to police. The incident occurred in the vicinity of East Bedford Park and Marion Avenue near the New York Botanical Garden.

WPIX-TV reported that Garcia, 35, was taken to a local area hospital where she was treated and released in stable condition.

On June 10, Serrano turned herself in at the 52nd Precinct Police Station, following a several week search by local authorities.

Despite all of her problems, she remained active on social media. According to Mandatory, one of her more recent posts said, “The truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off.” Serrano posted this famous quote from feminist Gloria Steinem, along with the hashtag “fact.” Another post on her Instagram feed read, “All I see is gains, b—h” and appeared next to a picture of Serrano wearing a swimsuit as she posed in a sauna.

Remaining completely silent, she wore high heels and a sleeveless black dress during her hearing at a Bronx Court where she has been charged with assault. Serrano has pleaded not guilty to these accusations.

The defendant’s attorneys said that there is no evidence that Serrano even had access to a tire iron. According to Libre Prensa, defense attorney Deron Castro said, “There was no tire iron here. This was a street fight.”

Mahmoud Rabah, another lawyer for the defendant, said, “I fully expect this will be dismissed.”
