An Arizona couple is behind bars after they were found transporting more than eight pounds of fentanyl pills worth roughly $90,000.
A Pinal County Sheriff’s deputy pulled the couple over on Monday off an interstate.
The woman, identified as Ester De Aguilar, was dressed as a nun and had a bible placed on her lap. Both Esther and her husband were acting suspiciously.
The deputy and his K-9 officer performed a search of the vehicle and found four bundles of suspected fentanyl pills located in the woman’s purse.
She was also hiding two other pouches underneath her costume.
Both Jose Diaz and Esther were booked and face multiple charges including transportation of narcotics for sale.
