A Missouri woman was arrested last week after police said she admitted to the sacrificial killing and immolation of a dog.

Brianna Lynn Lingo, 29, is charged with felony animal abuse and felony stealing an animal.

The woman reportedly stole the dog from her mother, strangled the animal and then set it on fire outside the Moberly residence.

Lingo’s mother told authorities that she had returned home and Lingo told her she had made a “sacrifice.”

According to KOMU, officers of Moberly Police found a half-burnt terrier mix dog that was deceased in the courtyard firepit.

Lingo, who had shaved her head at some point, was taken to the Randolph County Jail and is being held on a $5,000 bond.
