A Virginia woman was arrested on Thursday after she reportedly buried her dog alive.
The Dinwiddle Sheriff’s Office carried out an arrest following a January 13 call from a local resident, who claimed she saw her neighbor burying her dog in the yard.
The dog’s owner, Tiffany Nicole Camp, was not burying the remains of a deceased pet- instead, she was attempting to dispose of it while it was still alive.
The dog was actually buried by the time deputies arrived, and they extracted the animal from a trash bag it had been placed inside.
The pitbull mix was in “rough shape” when deputies inspected it and was taken to the Chesdin Animal Hospital for treatment of open wounds.
According to WRIC, Camp was arrested and charged with felony animal cruelty.
