A seven-foot fence wasn’t tall enough to keep a scared Emu in its habitat on Wednesday as an entire town and police department stepped up to corral the wild bird.
According to a WATE, one of Harry McKinney’s two Emu jumped the fence and started running around the town.
He posted on social media that MeeMoo the Emu got spooked by some crews logging nearby and was loose. Residents jumped in and started posting online where they were spotting MeeMoo.
Eventually, the police got involved and four patrol cars began surrounding the runaway Emu going as fast as 20 – 40 MPH.
Dispatch led McKinney and his wife to where the Emu was and they were able to tie him up and get him back home.
