Convicted child sex offender Joshua Harding attacked a lawyer in court, while he was on trial for sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl in a cemetery.
Harding is now facing terrorism and attempted murder charges, after he tried to stab an asst. prosecutor in the head — with a piece of metal he pulled from his sleeve.
The incident happened on Aug 2 in Michigan, as the jury was about to read the verdict, the Daily Mail reported.
The video shows the prosecutor, Jonathan Roth, getting out of the way “at the last second” as police tackle Harding to the ground.
Prosecutors had been pushing for a longer sentence with a minimum of 50 years, arguing that “Harding’s previous convictions for sexually assaulting children and numerous probation violations show he’s a danger to the public,” the Lansing State Journal reported.
“He is a predator who cannot and will not be rehabilitated,” Roth said during the trial.
Harding was sentenced to up to 38 years in prison for the sexual assault.
