Henry County Police Department is congratulating two officers for rescuing an impaired driver from certain death.

According to the department’s Facebook page, Officer Kelly Horne saw an Audi traveling down the road with the undercarriage on fire.

He attempted to pull the driver over, but the driver refused.

Eventually, the driver crashed the car, but still refused to get out.

Officer Horne, along with help from Officer William Palmer, smashed a window and pulled the man to safety as the flames continued to grow.

Within seconds the car was fully engulfed and destroyed.

The driver was impaired.

Officer Horne & Palmer were given the Lifesaving Medal Award by the department for their heroics.
