A Flagstaff, Arizona police officer is under investigation this morning for punching a woman in the face during an arrest.

A portion of the incident was caught on camera. The Dept reportedly just found out about the video in the last few hours. You can hear people yelling in the background saying: “Hey, you can’t hit a girl like that.”

According to 12 News, the woman told officers multiple times that they didn’t have a warrant for her arrest and a struggle ensued — as the officers tried to handcuff her.

The woman was apparently being uncooperative during the arrest, but it’s not yet clear why she was being arrested in the first place.

In a release issued by Sgt. Cory Runge, which was obtained by 12News, it reads: “Our agency is very concerned by what is depicted in this video.”
