A California man was brought down by police earlier this week after attacking a police station- with a baseball bat.

The West Covina Police Department reported that 28-year-old Christopher Rivas began striking the front lobby glass of the WCPD building at around 10:18 Monday morning, the beginning to a bizarre incident caught on tape.

Inside, several people panicked, fleeing to secured areas as police officers ran to take the man down. Fortunately, one officer outside tackled Rivas, forcing him to the ground until other officers could help subdue him.

According to a police statement, Rivas was arrested for Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Resisting Arrest before being sent to the LA County Medical Center for treatment and evaluation.

No bystanders were injured and video of the incident is being released to show the suspect’s threatening actions prior to being taken into custody.
