An Ohio man is being charged after a traffic stop and pursuit that led to two officers being injured on Friday.
34-year-old Thomas LaForce has been charged with felonious assault on a peace officer as well as felony fleeing and eluding.
LaForce’s run-in with the law took place just after 2 PM last week, when a Brooklyn (OH) Police officer recognized a vehicle previously used in a theft. Upon pulling LaForce over, the 34-year-old refused to get out of the vehicle. When the officer tried to remove him, LaForce dragged the officer a short distance.
Following a short pursuit, LaForce lost control of his vehicle and crashed. He was taken in for medical treatment.
Laforce had two active warrants and was driving with a suspended license at the time of his arrest. BPD told Fox8 that the man has an extensive criminal history.
