An alleged car thief has been caught after a dramatic arrest in the ocean, according to the New York Post.
Australian Police had been following the man for nearly two hours as he drove through sand dunes in an attempt to escape.
Then the man, in a desperate bid to get away, drove straight into the water. His vehicle was flooded by the first wave and his effort became futile. He climbed onto the roof of the car to get away from the crashing waves.
Police simply waited as the waves pushed the car back to them on the beach before moving in to arrest him.
