Update: New video has emerged that shows some of the fallout following an NYPD officer being sucker-punched in the Bronx.
Following the officer being struck, a woman who was interfering with the arrest of another man apparently hit the officer, which resulted in the officer striking the woman in the face.
We thought it appropriate that our readers see the rest of the incident unfold once we discovered this happened and would likely be part of the discussion.
As the NYPD deals with staffing issues related to the coronavirus, another despicable attack on officers was caught on video.
Tuesday, a man wearing a medical face mask was filmed sucker punching an officer while his partner was making an arrest in the Bronx.
Disturbingly, the crowd cheered the attack on the officer and encouraged the scumbag to run.
The suspect, Nelson Jimenez, was later arrested at a nearby bodega, according to Fox News.
The Sergeant’s Benevolent Association posted the video to twitter, including the caption, “Welcome to de Blasio’s NYC.”
NYC people are dying, and suffering as COVID-19 plagues thousands but the same scumbags continue to roam the streets of NYC and attack NYPD cops. Sadly the wrong people are suffering. Welcome to DeBlasios NYC pic.twitter.com/St6UoXV9wZ— SBA (@SBANYPD) April 8, 2020
Another officer who responded to the scene was also punched in the head, according to the Fox News.
The original suspect in the incident, Brandee Isom, was arrested and charged with assault and obstructing governmental administration, according to the report.
