UPDATE: Tampa police have arrested 24-year-old Howell Emanuel Donaldson III, who they detained yesterday at an area McDonald’s, for the murders of four people since October in the Seminole Heights neighborhood.
Earlier: Tampa Bay police are currently questioning someone whom they believe is connected to the Seminole Heights serial killings. They have also recovered a gun they believe may have been used in four murders since October.
During an evening news conference, Tampa police chief Brian Dugan said he was “optimistic” the situation was related to the recent spate of killings.
“The way things are progressing, things are starting to fall into place,” Dugan said.
It all started with a tip about a person carrying a gun that was at an area McDonald’s – to which police responded and detained the man for questioning.
Police were seen detaining a man who was then taken to police headquarters.
Authorities are insisting that this may lead nowhere and they will still be patrolling the Seminole Heights community tonight.
This is a developing story. We will update it as more information becomes available.
