UPDATE: 1:11 p.m. (EST): The officer shot has been identified as the new police chief, Steven Eric Disario. The other two people who were shot were employees at the nursing home, and have since died from their wounds.

UPDATE: 10:34 a.m. (EST): The officer who was shot in an ambush attack has died from his wounds.

UPDATE 10:11 a.m. (EST): Local news sources are reporting the following timeline.

A police officer was ambushed and shot. The officer is reportedly in critical condition.

The gunman then entered a nearby nursing home and shot two other people, before turning the gun on himself, according to 10TV.

We will verify this timeline when authorities give their official statements.

An officer has been shot and reports are coming in of more victims at a Kirkersville, OH nursing home this morning while responding to an active shooter situation.

No information has been released on the officer’s condition. Authorities have confirmed at least two people were hospitalized, according to ABC 6.

The incident took place at the Pine Kirk Care Center at approximately 7:30 a.m. this morning, according to WKRG.
