In a not so surprising twist, four officers who arrested an Achille town councilman and his wife have all been suspended, and the town’s mayor says termination is possible.

The mayor has also gone on to suspend the town’s police department as a result of the arrest.

According to KXII, Mayor David Northcutt says the officers did not execute a search warrant properly and because of several ‘issues’ has suspended the officers.

The police department released body cam video from the arrest that contradicts councilman Bryan Baker’s wife claim that they assaulted her husband.

She says he had to be treated at a local hospital, though in the video you can see him resist arrest and scream as he asks for Brian Kenny.

Officers were there searching for a gun believed to be owned by the councilman’s wife.

She has a prior felony drug conviction and is not legally allowed to possess a gun.

Officers found a gun and plenty of ammo inside a barn on the Baker’s property. A person who rents the barn says it’s his.

The officers will now be interviewed by the Town’s Board of Trustees, three of the five have all had recent run-ins with the law.

The illegal activity doesn’t stop there.

Both the town’s mayor and a councilwoman have been arrested for meth within the last six months.
