Update: Middle-school girl opens fire on classmates in California, shooting two

UPDATE: The 12-year-old girl who shot two classmates has been charged with negligent discharge of a firearm on school grounds after it was revealed that she accidentally fired the gun.

Earlier:
A girl is in custody after shooting two classmates at the Salvador Castro Middle School in Los Angeles today. Officers were filmed removing the suspect from the scene.

The victims, a 15-year-old boy and a 15-year-old-girl are have been transported to a local hospital, according to KTLA 5.

The Los Angeles Fire Department is reporting the boy is in critical but stable condition with a gunshot wound to the head and the girl was shot in the arm and is in fair condition.

Three others were also injured during the incident, including an 11-year-old and a 12-year-old.
