UPDATE (6:31 p.m.) – The driver of the truck is has been identified as Sayfullo Habibullaevic Saipov, a 29-years-old from Uzbekistan.
(5:25 p.m.) – Eight people have been confirmed killed according to NYC mayor Bill de Blasio during the first press conference since the attack took place. The mayor also officially labeled the attack as terrorism.

Multiple reports are coming in about a mass shooting on a busy Manhattan street today.
Multiple fatalities are being reported as well as the possible use of a vehicle in the incident.
One social media user who claims to have witnessed the shooting said it involved a cab driver.
Due to police activity, avoid the area of Chambers Street/West St.
