A man who disrupted court by using a cell phone or tablet was tasered and then shot following a struggle with deputy.
During the struggle, the taser had no effect so the deputy was forced to use his service weapon, shooting the suspect in the buttocks.
Initial reports by Channel 2 news that the person shot was an inmate or prisoner were incorrect.
The Clayton County Fire Department has confirmed they transported a sheriff’s prisoner from the courthouse to the Atlanta Medical Center in stable and alert condition.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been alerted to the shooting.
Crews from multiple local news outlets are en route to the scene and we will update this story as more information becomes available.
