Update: At least 2 police officers have been shot and transferred to the University of Louisville Hospital.

Earlier:

There is a heavy police presence outside of the University of Louisville Hospital where an officer has reportedly been transported after being shot during what are now being declared as unlawful assemblies – otherwise known as riots.

The officer was shot in the downtown area of Brook and Broadway just before 8:30 p.m. local time, according to WDRB.

Earlier in the day multiple small fires were set and arrests were made following the release of the grand jury’s charges against the officers involved in Breonna Taylor’s death.

This is a breaking story and we will update as more information becomes available.
