Update: Authorities are confirming that two children were shot near the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson today. Several rounds were fired into a vehicle where a 1-year-old and 3-year-old were struck, according to Jackson Police Chief James Davis.
Davis is stressing that it is not an active shooter situation.

At least two people have been shot in front of the University of Mississippi Medical center in Jackson. One report indicates they are both children.
There is a massive police presence on scene, but it is unknown at this time if the scene is secure.
