An undercover operation in went sideways in Detroit recently, as Special Operations units from two different precincts got into a fight in a crime and drug infested area in Detroit’s east side.
Undercover members of Detroit PD’s 12th Precinct attempted to conduct undercover drug operations in the area, posing as drug dealers in an attempt to trap some of the local buyers.
Setting up shop, the undercover officers awaited the approach of local buyers. Unfortunately, their biggest Patron would be their last when Special Operations members of the 11th Precinct showed up and ordered them to the ground.
Soon after, the officers were reinforced by members of the 12th Precinct Special Operations team, and a nearby house was raided but it turned into a squabble between the two rival precincts.
Firearms were drawn on each other and punches thrown as the homeowner stood and watched cops fighting cops- all over a misunderstanding.
“You’ve gotta have to have more communication, I guess,” said the resident. “I don’t understand what happened about that – communicate.”
According to Fox2, the incident has since been pushed up to the city department’s Internal Affairs unit.
