Two Philadelphia Police officers were shot and are in stable condition after a suspect went on a shooting spree that left one civilian dead and three others injured in West Philadelphia Friday night, according to police.
Shots rang out after 11 p.m. near 52nd and Sansom streets in West Philadelphia.
During a news conference Police Commissioner, Richard Ross, said that the officers wounded during the attack are Sgt. Sylvia Young and Ed Miller, an officer with the Univeristy of Pennsylvania police force according to an article by USA Today.
Though there was not a clear motive as to why the gunman committed this heinous crime but FOX29, in an article about the incident, reports the finding of a note where the suspect expressed his hatred of police officers.
The police commissioner also said during the news conference that the suspect was fatally shot after officers followed him into an alley after a brief chase.
