Two Smyrna police officers are recovering at the hospital after getting into a shootout with a suspected gun store robber.
According to Fox 5, police in Cobb County received multiple 911 calls early Saturday morning about a possible robbery at the Adventure gun store in Smyrna. Symrna officers and Cobb County Sheriff’s deputies arrived and confronted the suspect inside the store. The suspect then fired at the officers, who returned fire.
Two officers were struck and taken to the hospital.
The suspect was also struck by a bullet and killed.
Police are unsure of the suspect’s motives and have not identified the person.
Adventure Outdoors touts itself as the world’s largest gun store.
