Two federal police officers were shot as 10,000 people stormed downtown Oakland in protest of the recent killing of George Floyd.

According to the NY Post, those protesters destroyed and looted a Target, Walgreens, and Chase bank.

The two federal officers, who work for Homeland Security, were stationed at the downtown Federal Building.

Police are investigating the shooting, but have no direct coorelation between the fatal incident and the protest.

It’s also uncertain if the federal officers were assisting with crowd control, or merely stationed at the building to protect it.

No arrests have been made and the identity of the officers have not been released.
