A North Texas woman is accused of smothering her roommate to death by sitting on her, according to law enforcement.
Gloria A. Jordan was arrested for manslaughter charges in the Wichita Falls area on Tuesday, the WFPD report.
The victim, Gloria Farmer, was initially written off as a medical death by investigators until a family friend and the property’s third resident stepped forward with information.
The unidentified roommate claimed that Jordan was likely responsible for the killing, and that she did not initially speak to police due to fear of retaliation.
Court documents claim the Jordan initially put her hand on Farmer’s head while praying before pushing her to to the ground and using her body weight to suffocate her.
According to KWTX, Jordan was arrested by Burkburnett police on Tuesday after local authorities issued a reward of $1,000 for information leading to her arrest.
