A Harris County Sheriff’s Deputy was shot and killed during a traffic stop in what law enforcement is calling an ambush attack.
According to ABC 13, Corporal Charles Galloway pulled over a vehicle around 12:45 a.m. Sunday morning when the driver of the car got out, pulled out a weapon, and began firing at Galloway.
Galloway has been declared dead, however, sheriff’s deputies are still trying to identify the shooter and locate him.
Constable Ted Heap says, “Corporal Galloway did not have an opportunity to defend himself in this brutal attack.”
The Sheriff’s Office says the shooter has been identified only as a young Latino man driving a newer model Toyota Avalon.
