An Oklahoma youth is in custody after shooting at an off-duty Tulsa County Sheriff’s deputy with a stolen BB gun.

The incident took place early Tuesday after the youth was seen leaving a local Walmart in Tulsa with a backpack full of items he had reportedly stolen.

The off-duty deputy -who works part-time as a security guard for the store- confronted the young man, prompting the juvenile to fire the BB gun at the officer. Fortunately for the youth, Walmart policy forbids its employees (including LEOs) from being armed while working at the store.

According to NewsOn6, the deputy was able to chase down the juvenile and take him into custody without injury to himself.
