A former teacher has pleaded guilty to an inappropriate sexual relationship with a student.
Leah Ruthann Queen, who resides in Oklahoma but used to be a teacher in Gentry, Arkansas, was arrested in September after it was revealed she had an inappropriate relationship with the student that dated back to 2010.
The 44-year-old was involved with the now-former student after they met at a basketball game.
The gender of the victim was not listed, though the victim was 17 years of age at the time of the incident.
According to KNWA, the relationship began around 2010, and sexual encounters frequently took place in Queen’s office or in the school bathrooms.
During an investigation interview, her husband reported seeing the victim sharing a bed with Queen on multiple occasions.
Queen has been given six years of state-supervised probation, as well as a 58-day stint in the Benton County Jail.
Benton County occupies 884.86 square miles and has a population of approximately 293,692 people.
