The Police Chief of the DeKalb County School District was suspended from his position with pay after surveillance video of him slamming a student to the ground has circulated online.

The incident has caused concern among parents, but law enforcement officers are cautioning others to hold judgment until the details are revealed.

According to 11 Alive, Chief Brad Gober was assisting an officer during an arrest in August. That’s when the student shoved the officer, and Gober interceded.

The parent says she’s shocked by the chief’s actions and doesn’t understand why he slammed her son to the ground. The student now faces a felony charge of obstructing a law enforcement officer.

Gober has not commented about his suspension or the incident.
