Suspected shoplifter shoots officer after fighting with him in a Lowe’s

An officer with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) is recovering after being shot on the city’s east side on Sunday.

Officer Eric Rosenbaum was hit around 7 PM outside of a Lowe’s Home Improvement store, when he attempted to stop a shoplifting suspect and ended up in a physical altercation.

The suspect, William Allen, was arrested and held without bond in the Marion County Jail.

According to the Indy Star, no charges have been filed as of yet and the incident is under investigation.
