If you’re going to jump from a roof to escape from the NYPD, be sure you have superpowers, first.
27-year Steven Paulino learned this lesson the hard way on Sunday morning, when he missed his intended landing spot, falling several stories before hitting the ground.
Paulino attempted to evade police in Kingsbridge Heights when he made the leap, trying to reach another building but falling short of his goals.
The young man ended up running from the police after he threatened his girlfriend with a firearm, taking a potshot at officers as he fled the scene.
According to the New York Post, Paulino ditched his gun around a quarter-mile from where he fired at police, heading up to the roof of a building in an attempt to escape.
Though Paulino evaded police on the roof, he ultimately fell into the capable hands of officers on the ground. He was sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and later arrested for unknown (sealed) charges.
