A man opened fire on 4 St. Louis police officers shortly after 1:00 a.m. Sunday at a Crown Mart gas station in what is being described as a drive-by shooting.

One police officer was struck by buckshot from a sawed-off shotgun and two others were injured, according to local reports.

According to KSDK, and photos provided by the St. Louis Police Officers Association, at least one marked car was covered in bullet holes from the shotgun blasts.

Following the attack, officers pursued the suspect, who continued to fire at them.

During the chase, the suspect rammed a police cruiser and crashed into a traffic light before attempting to flee on foot. He was apprehended shortly after, according to KSDK.

This is a developing story. We will add more information as it becomes available.
