Milwaukee police have released body cam and surveillance video of a May officer-involved shooting.
According to CBS 58, the three officers were sitting in a car for surveillance after the department received a call that a wanted murder suspect was spotted in the area.
While in the car, two masked men approached the vehicle. Both were attempting to look through the windows, but could not see inside due to the tint.
Officers then saw one of the men reach toward his waist to pull out a loaded handgun, officers then opened fire through the windows.
The suspect who was shot and killed, later identified as Cesar Sarmiento-Molina, was not the murder suspect but did have a warrant out for his arrest for burglary.
The other man who ran off was later arrested and questioned.
The man officers were looking for, Victor Cintron Jr., was arrested almost two weeks later in California.
Cintron Jr. attempted to kill his child’s mother, Lexi Rivera, a week before the officer-involved shooting. During that murder attempt, Rivera’s boyfriend, and father to her unborn child, Jose Rodriguez shielded her from the bullets and was killed by Cintron Jr.
