The Long Beach Police Department has released a surveillance video of an officer-involved shooting from February that shows the extreme actions officers took to capture a shotgun-wielding suspect.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, the suspect began opening fire at patrons of a restaurant, hitting and injuring one person. He eventually moved toward a liquor store, where he again shot and injured a second person, this time a woman.

One officer confronted the man while he was standing in an intersection. That officer was on foot. A second officer, still in his vehicle, was just arriving on scene. That’s when the suspect turned, and began firing his shotgun at the officer in his vehicle. The officer then hit the gas and intentionally hit the suspect with his vehicle.

The suspect was declared dead at the scene.

One officer and the two victims were treated and taken to the hospital.

Police have not determined a motive.
