A group of social justice warrior students at the University of Virginia took to campus Friday night to shut down a “Cops and Robbers” fraternity event, claiming it  made “a joke of mass incarceration.”

Attendees of the event wore police or inmate costumes and were presumably having a good time before they were confronted by about 20 “UVa Students United” protesters, a group claiming it is a “coalition of students from around the University community taking direct action and organizing for a more accessible, democratic, and inclusive UVa.”

In a Facebook post, UVa Students United claim that “a group of about twenty or so students shut down a “cops and robbers” themed date function at the Hall, a fraternity on campus.”

“The members of the frat wore orange jumpsuits, with bandanas tied around their heads, chains, and tattoos drawn on their arms,” they wrote. “These ‘costumes’ make a joke of mass incarceration and the prison-industrial complex, systems that disproportionately brutalize people of color.”

Following confrontations with the fraternity members and their guests, the fraternity called the police and had the protesters removed on the grounds of trespassing.

UVa Students United is a predominantly far-left group, promoting their own flavor of social justice akin to that of the Antifa organization.
