The story of a man’s shotgun-related slaying in Georgia continues to get worse and worse, this time after it was revealed that the sister of the shooter took photos of the victim and posted them to Snapchat.
Lindsay McMichael, the 30-year-old sister of Travis McMichael and daughter of Gregory McMichael, reportedly snapped a photo of Ahmaud Arbery’s corpse after he was fatally hit with a shotgun.
The woman claimed the act was instinctive, and that she is a “true-crime” fan.
“I had no nefarious or malicious intent when I posted that picture,” she told media outlets. “The thing is I’m a huge fan of true crime -I listen to four or five podcasts a week- I’m constantly watching that sort of thing.”
According to the New York Post, the woman regrets her decision.
“It was more of a, ‘Holy s–t, I can’t believe this has happened,’” she added. “It was absolutely poor judgment.”
The Arbery family attorney called the action and photo “deeply disturbing.”
“The picture Lindsay McMichael posted was very disturbing and very disturbing to the family,” said attorney S. Lee Merritt . “It actually fits the pattern of the McMichael family engaging in a weird, violent form of voyeurism.”
The elder McMichael and his son are currently facing murder charges.
