Fresno police released bodycam footage from a deadly shooting in November.
Officers were called to an apartment complex to check the welfare of a suicidal person.
He was identified as 33-year-old Maximiliano “Max” Sosa Jr. who was upset over his girlfriend allegedly cheating on him.
When officers arrived, they were able to speak to him on the phone from the apartment while he was in his car.
After attempts to talk him down failed, Sosa eventually appeared at the apartment’s front door with scissors in his hands.
“You ready for this,” he said while walking towards the officers who drew their weapons.
“Don’t do it, bro, step back,” officers yelled at him.
“This is what you wanted,” Sosa says to his girlfriend.
He made aggressive postures with the scissors and he continued to verbally lash out at the two officers in the apartment.
“This f***ing b*tch cheated on me with a f***ing ni**a from school,” he said to the officers.
“Yo, f**k that guy,” the officer responded. “I’ll tell you right now, you don’t want to do this,” the officer added.
Sosa eventually turned his attention back to his girlfriend, stating, “I gave you everything and this is how you repay me!”
Officers continued their attempts to de-escalate the confrontation and used a Taser before three officers fired their weapons.
The officers were placed on paid administrative leave.
