A close call on for a calm day at the beach on Thursday evening for one off-duty Cocoa Beach police officer.
According to the Brevard Times, officer Adrian Kosicki and his wife were walking along the Pier when they noticed a shark approach a small boy on a boogie board.
The officer quickly dove into the water to pull the boy to the beach and out of danger, though the shark got with a few feet of both.
Cocoa Beach is located in Brevard County, which comes in second when it comes to annual shark attacks in Florida. The top spot belongs to neighboring Volusia County.
