A 28-year-old man is getting an up close and personal view of law enforcement after he was arrested for impersonating an officer.

According to KNVX, a Department of Public Safety Sergeant stopped to assist what he thought was a routine traffic stop.

He had believed the vehicle was an unmarked police car.

As he started to approach the would-be officer he noticed the man did not have a firearm on his waist and wore a shirt with Mesa Police embroidered in it, along with a gold badge.

After a few questions the sergeant then arrested Joshua Hillman.

He had apparently pulled the fake traffic stop because the woman had “cut him off.”

He faces multiple charges.
