A 45-year-old woman was arrested in connection with throwing a smoothie at a store employee, which was captured on video and went viral online, police said.

Pamela Underwood was arrested Thursday on suspicion of assault for allegedly throwing a smoothie Jan. 4 at an employee of the Tropical Smoothie, located in the Fountains at Farah shopping center, El Paso Police Department officials said.

Underwood is accused of becoming enraged when the employee, who is only identified as a 23-year-old woman, allegedly touched Underwood’s cellphone during a transaction, officials said.

She then demanded a refund while allegedly using “racially charged language,” officials said.

The video posted online shows the woman telling a Hispanic employee that she wants her refund in dollars and not pesos.

Underwood then allegedly threw her smoothie at the employee. The smoothie hit the employee in the shoulder and chest area, officials said.

Underwood was arrested on suspicion of assault. She was booked into the El Paso County Jail on a $3,000 bond.
