A polite robber? Yea, sounds like an oxymoron – but there are apparently criminals who do have a conscience. A recent robbery case in Deerfield Beach, Fla. illustrates this well.
A man who was apparently stressed over how he was going to give his kids Christmas gifts, decided to hold-up a Little Caesars restaurant a few weeks before the holidays.
And it seems he is possibly one of the most polite robbers on record. The “remorseful robber” was reportedly apologizing while he was stealing from the store.
Surveillance video shows him pointing his gun at the worker behind the counter as she starts to remove trays from the registers. All the while, a male customer– who seems surprisingly at ease throughout the whole ordeal– waits until the robber exits the store, instead of making a run for it.
This all happened on the evening of December 9, at the Little Caesars restaurant located at 1462 S. Federal Highway, according to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office.
The suspect — a black male in his early 20’s, with a light complexion and medium build — was described by witnesses as “very polite.” He apparently asked the employee to “please” give him money from the store’s safe and said he was “sorry for doing this” but his “kids need Christmas.”
Police say the man was carrying a dark backpack, wearing dark pants, black gloves and a dark gray sweatshirt with the word “Nike” on it. They also said he had a ‘gold grill’ on his teeth and a mustache.
Anyone with information is urged to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. A reward of up to $3,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
