An R&B singer is accusing Dutch authorities and airline staff of racial profiling after she was detained at an airport in Amsterdam.
Courtney Shanade Salter, who goes by the stage name Ari Lennox, claimed that Dutch Military Police judged her on the basis of skin color, rather than Blood Alcohol Content.
“I’m being arrested in Amsterdam for reacting to a woman racially profiling me,” Salter tweeted, later accusing Amsterdam security forces of “hating black people.”
According to the New York Post, Dutch MPs tell another story, noting that the intoxicated Salter was irate after she accused airline staff of profiling her.
“Our unit found a woman full of emotions, that wouldn’t calm down,” spokesman Robert van Kapel said in a statement. “That’s why she had to be taken into custody.”
Salter is best known for her 2019 single “Shea Butter Baby.”

I’ve never heard of this person. I guess she’s looking for some free publicity.
