A man with a makeshift knife held up a woman, told her he was going to marry her, slashed her face, and then ran off with the woman’s phone and bag.

According to the NY Daily News, Dana Sagona was waiting for her Lyft driver when the attack happened on Sunday.

She says the blade barely missed her eye and she had to have 44 stitches to close the wound.

She described her assailant as a Latino man in his 50s.

Police have told Sagona they have a video of the incident, though it hasn’t been released yet.

Doctors have told the victim she will have a permanent scar.
