In an unexpected move, President Trump has instructed chief of staff, Mick Mulvaney, to remove Randolph “Tex” Alles as director of the U.S. Secret Service.
That’s according to CNN.
Some new outlets point out that Alles’ removal is tied with Kirstjen Nielsen’s resignation as Secretary of Homeland Security.
Alles is a retired Marine Corps major general and was appointed two years ago by the President.
Before he was the leader of the Secret Service, Alles worked as a deputy commissioner of Customs and Border Protection.
He was elevated right after a man was climbed the southern wall of the White House in March 2017.
There is no indication who the President may be looking at to fill the role.
