Pregnant woman hit by her own car at gas station after carjacking

A pregnant Alabama woman was struck with her own car on Sunday after it was stolen at a Chevron gas station, according to Mobile police.

The incident occurred around 1:28 a.m. at the gas station on Azalea Road in Mobile.

Workers at the gas station told local outlet, WKRG, that the crime was not shocking to them.

“There’s no honest people anymore. There’s no decency to each other. There’s no common sense,” a worker told the outlet. “It’s becoming disgusting.”

According to police, the pregnant woman went inside the gas station to get something to drink and ran back outside when she noticed that a man was sitting down in her Honda Civic.

When she made it back to her car, she attempted to open the door, but the man inside accelerated into another car nearby.

The woman moved in front of her car, but was soon ran over by the man inside, who hit her so hard that she flew across the dashboard and hit the ground. The victim survived but her condition is not known.

At this time, there have been no arrests in the case.
