Police unions including the national FOP and local FOP in Philadelphia where the upcoming DNC is to be held are condemning the speaker list for having the parents of African-Americans who were killed by police speak, but not family members of recently slain police officers to balance the voices.
The choice is seen by many as a way to stir up anger against police as a way to get more people to vote in the upcoming election, regardless of the negative impact it may have on law enforcement officers throughout the country.

The letter should have been much more specific. It isn’t just mother’s of persons killed by police; one of them is the mother of Michael Brown, the suspect that attempted to disarm a police officer after robbing a store. Local and Federal investigations ruled that the officer was justified in his actions, yet Michael Brown is still being portrayed as the victim? Officer Wilson, the true victim, lost his career and is forced to live in the shadows while his asssailant’s mother is going to be prostituted across a stage at the Democratic National Convention. This is a giant slap in the face to law enforcement.
