The San Antonio Police Department has released video footage from three officer-involved shootings that occurred within a week.
Two of the shootings occurred on Aug. 30 and the third took place on Sept. 4, according to a news release.
The first Aug. 30 shooting involved 40-year-old Michael Kirkland, who was wanted on a warrant for aggravated assault against a public servant. Kirland fired multiple rounds at officers, striking one in the arm.
Kirkland was struck in the exchange. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The second shooting involved an undercover detective chasing a man involved in multiple vehicle burglaries. A single gunshot was fired and the detective fell to the ground, according to police.
Another officer then drew his weapon and fired multiple rounds at the armed suspect, identified as 21-year-old Victor Fernandes, who died at the scene.
During the investigation, SAPD discovered that the detective had accidentally shot himself.
The Sept. 4 shooting involved two officers who were attempting to detain 27-year-old Jacob String, who was wanted on four warrants for aggravated robbery.
After failing to follow directions from the officers, String was tased. He then drew his weapon, aiming it towards the officers. Both officers fired their weapons, striking String.
String was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said they had no other information to release at this time.
